When our customer asked me to build him this car it took only a split second to say YES! How often does a car builder get to do a car that has never been attempted? The concept is a Charger 2 seat Roadster. Something that would look like Chrysler would have built for the Auto show back in the day as a concept car. But this one has to be fully functional and will get driven a lot! We located a 57k mile Charger RT on the west coast. The car was perfect. No rust ever, no damage and everything was there and in beautiful condition. I truly believe if the old owner knew what we were planning he would not have sold it to us. The first step was to build frame rails and reinforce the car every possible way to eliminate all flexing of the huge unibody. Murray Pfaff was once again called upon to design this car. After many try’s we got a design that we all agreed was perfect. The custom tricks are far too many to even list here. Besides cutting the roof off, we built a speed arch with dual head rest bolsters. Custom rear and front spoilers are built from steel. A neat exhaust that mimics the tail lights has been built in the lower valance. The interior is based on 2 newer SRT Dodge Charger seats, a totally custom made dash, a custom console and a radical stereo system. Everything is being done in house at Performance Restorations. Paint is House of Kolor Candy Blue. Perf- Resto is well known for their candy paint jobs. The Candy Paint is a lost art that most builders will not even attempt. Owner Brent Jarvis Sprayed the trick paint himself. Drive line consists of a Gen3 EFI 426 Hemi that makes 620hp. Mated to a 4 speed Paddle shifted auto over drive trans. Suspension is all killer stuff. An AlterKation front K member with Rack and pinion, tube a-arms, and coil over’s takes care of the front. A Dana 60 with triangulated 4 link and coil over’s takes care of the rear. Hug Wilwood brakes all around will help stop the big car. This is one Radical Charger and will be done very soon in 2012!!
