This 65 Corvette coupe was found in Texas, It was a road race car all of its life. The owner passed on and then the car sat until I purchased it. My plan is to race the car in NASA’s new Super Unlimited class. I want the car to look much like a vintage road race Vette from back in the day. It will of course be anything but. The engine is a 565 ci 840hp all aluminum big block. Trans is a G-Force 5 speed. Suspension is much my own design featuring a modified Dick Gouldstrand 5 bar rear, double adjustable coil overs on all four corners and adjustable swing arm sway bars. When the suspension was finished I ended up with zero bump steer front and rear. Plenty of negative camber gain front and rear. And a roll center equal to a new ZO6. The brake system is a radical Wilwood racing design custom built for this car. The rotors are Scalloped 13 inchers with aluminum hats. 6 piston calipers will grab the custom made rotors. The body will have stock fenders pulled out about 3 inches in the rear and a few other nice custom touches. I will paint it Candy red. The chassis is also my own design starting with the stock frame rails. I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves here.
With luck the car will hit the track in the summer of 2008.
